At last, we have the first 4 Houses of Wizards

Last week we could meet the first four Houses of wizards of La Campiña School of Wizardry and Witchcraft. Their names are The Lightning Hunters, The Lords of Might and Magic, The Electric Golden and Wild Magic. Do you want to meet them and know everything about their members? Then click on the links below:

The Lightning Hunters

The Lords of Might and Magic

The Electric Golden

Wild Magic

All of them are wonderful Houses capable of doing incredible things. What magical experiences await them? We will find out soon.

The Sorting Ceremony

Our students have already been sorted into Houses. But, how was it done? Well, this time this was not a decision to be made by the teacher. This was something for the Sorting Hat to decide. What is the Sorting Hat?

The Sorting Hat is a magical and crucial element in our Magical School. The students wear it and as soon as it is placed on their heads, this Hat is able to feel and perceive all those good qualities and hidden gifts our students have. Then, with all that information, it sorts them into a House where they will be able to develop those talents.

TASK 1 - September/October 2018

For this task, you will have to work in group, but you will also have to do some individual work:

a) Group work:
Now that you have been sorted into a house, this is what you have to do:

1. Invent a name for your house.

2. Create your symbol and explain what it represents.

3. Think of  a motto which defines you as members of that particular house (for example, “When there’s a will, there is a way”) and explain it.

b) Individual work:

1.  Choose a captain for your house (the function of the captain will be to encourage the rest of the members and to ensure everybody does their best).. Write his/her name on a piece of paper and and give reasons for your choice (for example, “I have chosen X to be our Captain because I think he /she …” ). Then read your vote aloud and all the votes must be counted to see who got more votes.

5. Keep a personal glossary including all the new vocabulary you learn while you are working (pay attention to its presentation).

c) Group work with individual parts:

-At the end of task 1, each house will introduce themselves to the rest of houses explaining everything about them (speaking): name of the house, captain, motto, symbol , etc.

- Each and every member must speak about themselves (name, age, pet) and describe themselves explaining how they will be helpful to their house, what they can give to contribute to it.

NOTE: You can use a Powerpoint presentation, visual signs, special clothes or anything else to make your presentation appealing.
